Pot handle Pot holders
You will need a quilted placemat, matching thread, cutting and measuring tools.
Measure the width of the widest part of your pot handle and the length.
Cut off binding from the sides and bottom of place mat.
Cut two pieces 1 " wider and 1/2" longer than the measurements of your pot handle.
Sew long ends together and slip sleeve onto pot handle.
After I sewed the bottom shut I decided to make a more fitted pot holder. Just draw a sewing line to the shape of your pot holder.
Make sure to zig zag all around. Cut off excess fabric close to your stitch and turn inside out. This is the hardest part because of the thickness of the fabric.
Now, when I use my new cast iron pots, I can handle them safely with these mini pot holders. These would also be great for Corning pots.
