This year we celebrated an "anniversary weekend". Here is what I did.
Mr. F. leaves for work at about 2:40 a.m. So this past Friday, as soon as the door closed behind him I got to work.
First, I hammered a couple of small nails on either side of the doorway leading from the dining room to the living room.
I cut out the pics, stuck them to the center of the paper doilies, wrapped the top of each doily over the cord and held it in place with a clothespin.
Then I made a pennant for the middle. I just folded some scrapbook paper into a triangle, used the glue runner to adhere the sides together. I folded a doily in half, adhered the pennant to one side folded the doily over the cord, adhered the other side, and, Tada! Bunting done.
Mr. F. came home late Saturday morning. He kinda expected the bunting since I did something similar last year. But he still liked it. It was the first thing he saw when he walked in.
Shortly after, we headed into town. We went out to get Mexican tacos. We love this grocery store in our area that also has a restaurant. They make some of the best tacos. It cost us exactly $5.80 for 5 tacos. We ate them in the car and chatted. They were so good. Mmmm.
We hung out the next day trying not to do much of anything. Later, I presented Mr. F. with this printable. It's project number four. Once again I used PicMonkey.
It will be framed and put on the wall on Mr. F's side of the bed. (Maybe)
This was the messy part. You will end up with red dust everywhere. I did all my sanding in a box to contain the dust. Then I used a damp paper towel to wipe the dust off.
Note: I would sand first and then apply the stickers. That way you don't get red on your white stickers.
You can go plain or really fancy with this, as you'll see when you google the project. I went plain and simple. I wrapped it in brown craft paper and taped it with pretty washi tape. Done.
In conclusion this has been one of my favorite anniversary celebrations. We spent lots of time together away from crowds. We spent little money. We talked a lot about the future, and just plain had fun.
Have you had a frugal anniversary? What did you do to save money?
