I would like to start off my first blog post of the year by expressing some thoughts about blogging. Specifically my blogging. After my last post of December 9, 2014 I really had great doubts about ever blogging again.
Although I have had great fun sharing projects and ideas with all of you, I have at times felt like an outsider looking in on a great big blogger party I was not invited to. Why? Well, quite often I got the feeling that stats, SEOs, sponsors...and "my blog needs to look as much like a glossy magazine as possible with picture perfect rooms", yada, yada, yada, was more important to many, than the shear enjoyment of sharing and communicating. That's not me.
But you know what? I recently discovered that I am not alone. There are bloggers out there who are working at improving their blogs, their writing, their photos, their projects...just like I am. And in the process they enjoy connecting with and helping each other. Sure many of us want to monetize our blog, but not at the expense of the FUN!
If you have visited me in the past two to three weeks you probably noticed a bit of a mess and even some dust flying around here. That's because I decided to shake off my inhibitions, spruce up the old blog and Jump in, create new relationships, encourage new crafters and other frugalistas and blog for the fun of it. And yeah, make advancement as I go along.
After all, my word of the year is progress!
So if you are a blogger wondering as I did if you fit in, if your blog will ever look like a glossy magazine or if it's worth it to continue, join me, stick with it, blog for the pure joy of it, improve as you go and hey, I'll even let you borrow my word of year if you like. Go ahead, take it;).
